Study in Quebec or elsewhere in Canada?

You are considering studying in Canada to apply for the PEQ (Programme de l’experience quebecoise)?

Even if you plan to apply to a program in English, you will be required to prove your ability to speak an intermediate level of French at the time of your application. Your application will be refused if you fail to meet the level of proficiency required.

Once you graduate from a Canadian education program, you are eligible to apply for a post graduate work permit. This work permit, if approved, will be valid for the duration of your studies.

The PEQ ( Programme de l’Experience Quebecoise ) can also be entered through a Worker Stream system. If you have worked full time for a period ( at least 24 or over 24 ? ) of 24 months, for which you have been paid, in Quebec, for a Quebec employer and can demonstrate an intermediate level of French, you can apply for the PEQ.

Take note that the primary criteria will be to demonstrate your French proficiency. You will have to show a strong commitment to learning French. If this is not your case, I strongly advise you to study in another province of Canada and apply to the Federal Skilled Worker program or the Canadian Experience program, to increase your chances of success in your immigration process.

Why do people immigrate to Canada?

Quality of life.

When people decide to move to a far away country, it is to find a better life, for themselves and their children. But once the decision is made, how do I make it a reality ? What is the next step ?

You can look up a lot of the information online. Make sure to always get your information from official websites, as a lot of outdated or misinterpreted information are crawling the web. Websites like https://www.cic.gc.ca, a canadian government website, should provide all the information you need.

However, those websites are often heavy on legal terms, contain a lot of information to sort through and be confusing to the untrained eye. This is why, while not mandatory, representation is a great asset. A regulated immigration consultant will spend the time with you to evaluate your profile and determine your eligibility to the different immigration programs. This will ensure the steps you take, and you valued time, will be put in the right direction. A consultant can also help you improve your profile before you make your application, ensuring higher chances of success for you and your family.

You can find a registrar of all canadian certified active members of the profession on the ICCRC website

If you wish to move to the province of Quebec specifically, you can find the list of Quebec certified members here
